Overall Duties
Key Responsibilities (Training will be provided):
• Assisting in the preparation, cutting, and fit-up of aluminium components for catamaran hulls, superstructures and our Sailfish range of boat trailers.
• Learning and practicing various welding techniques, with a primary focus on MIG & TIG aluminium welding to a high marine standard.
• Interpreting basic engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Assisting qualified tradespeople with fabrication tasks.
• Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe work environment, adhering strictly to WHS policies.
• Operating workshop machinery, including saws, grinders, welding machines and press brakes (under supervision).
Required Skills
• A genuine interest in metal fabrication, welding, and the marine industry.

• Basic competency in math and measuring.
• The ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions.
• Reliable transport to and from the factory location.
Qualifications and Education
As a 1st Year Apprentice, you will be part of our skilled fabrication team, receiving comprehensive, on-the-job training and formal TAFE training (Wollongbar TAFE) to achieve a Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade.
